Well the tyre warmers work Which is more than can be said for my battery Woke up this morning to find her dead as a dodo Fooking thing! Anyway loaded bike into van, picked up Herr Schnauzer and headed up the M1 in the rain
Arrived at a very wet but at least no longer raining Rockingham. Decided even if I get the b*tch started I'm not going near the track till it dries a bit. The new BT016's have 2 miles on them and they managed to spit me off in the 1st 4 feet of those in the dry
Anyhoo get the cow started, fook knows why she lost all charge in 2 days. Wasn't at 100% wed/thurs when I started her and not tried since. She has just had 2 days in the rain without her cover on though I feel ashamed
Rockingham not being the best track grip wise in the wet didn't take long to deliver a victim. 2 laps into sighting laps of fast group (1st out) the red flag is out Nearly all the fast guys seemed on full wets as well. It continued like that for the rest of the morning. Red flag after red flag. It really was crash-arama.
A dry-ish line started to appear coming up to lunch. Managed to get myself moved from fast down to inters (phew) missed their session and was planning to do last session of the morning with the novice just to try and scrub the tyres in. Unfortunately someone lunched it in the inters and spilt the insides of his bike all over the track and an early lunch was called while they cleaned it up.
Finally at 2.20 Schnauzer and I venture out on to a dry line in places track. I'm riding like a pussy on the shiny new rubber. We get red flagged twice and its the end of session but I think the shinny shit is almost gone Next and last session of the day was better but still pretty slow. We get 1 red flag and then my foot peg decides to shake itself loose and so I head off before it falls off, followed immediately by me
Funny old day all in all. Bike having a flat battery gave me the right hump on the journey up, - which Schnauzer probably noticed but was good enough not to ask about. Cheers m8 that and the pissing rain of course
Was still good to get out for a couple of sessions though. It is November after all. Met a couple of nice guys. One dude was ripping it up on a bored out 450 SX Supermoto. Damn I wish I could afford one! WTH am I going to do for my fix over winter as I think that's it for me UK trackdays wise till next year. Was a good first year though with 8 in all and only lunching it the once. Bring on 2010 and some European dates thrown in
