Stupid Luke
Did a trackday today with MSV at Snetterton and it snowed
It was about 1 -2 degrees and dry for the first two sessions. However with the windchill it felt more like 10 below. The track temp was so cold it was hard to keep any heat in the tyres.
There were only about 14 people there at the start of the day. So it was decided to split into a novice group and a inter / fast group each would have half hour sessions.
It was near impossible to stay out for half hour though and we were coming in after 10 mins warming up in front of the heater then back out for the last 10.
After the first two sessions a few snowflakes started falling which swiftly turned into a mini blizzard. We retired to the cafe and during the two minute walk from the garages my fleece got totally covered. I looked like a bloody sheep when I got there.
After about an hour the snow clouds had passed and the track was just wet. So on with the wets and back out. It was now open pit as all the novices had gone home. There were six of us remaining and three were MSV instructors! We managed to squeeze another couple of hours out of the day. Well five of us did! One guy crashed his new GSXR1000 on the second session on supercorsas. Then did it again on the fourth session on wets - not a good day for him
Anyway I had a good day and learnt a lot from the spare MSV instructors. So unless anyone here finds a colder trackday I am the ice road tracker of the forum
