Not posted for a little while here.

It's prob not of interest but Mike reckoned I should post up anyway as there are a few longstanding members on here were very supportive of the superduke this season, so just wanted to keep up to date.

I'll do a season round up vid at some point after we collect the end of year trophies for 3rd in both championships and tie in the pics n that.

Obviously on a Kawasaki now, but if anyone is interested we've changed the team kit to include the new sponsors an bike marque

Don't mean to tread on anyone's toes. And as always all the superduke info i gathered over the past two sessions in available to anyone who needs help.

Hope everyone is doing well. New bike looks good, but after hearing the info from the guys on the tests I think that BMW has it beat. Look forward to seeing a 1290 in real life at some point next year though.

Hopefully see some of you on track or at a race weekend in 2014.

Cheers

Hey Gordon,

I'd personally would be happy to continue reading your updates here, even if it's on a Kawi.

Good luck next year, bike looks sweet.

Hi Gordon please keep the reports coming and good luck with the Kawasaki.

"Hope everyone is doing well. New bike looks good, but after hearing the info from the guys on the tests I think that BMW has it beat. Look forward to seeing a 1290 in real life at some point next year though." You can have a go on mine if you tweet the suspension for me!

Cheers. Had a big problem with the blog/site in that i let the domain lapse, went to renew it and someone had bought it!! Lots of back and forth and the guy want $2000 to sell it. It only cost me £6 so thats not happening. Things went a bit messy with the blog as i couldnt change settings as i didnt own the domain so lost the lot.

So i've set up a new site along the same lines. Huge pain in the ass as i've had to get the bike livery n team kit redone and lost all the race reports from all of last season.

Should be up here soon.

Spartan racing? Wicked.

I hope there's a lot of full on capslock action.

THIS IS SPARTA!

It was going to be that originally but I bailed out.

Always been into the Spartan training stuff and done a few competitions. And it sums up the budget nicely too .

Was going to go for Viking coz i like them. Dunno why. Just something cool about a load of big ole badasses cutting about on a boat, drinking ale and eating meat. Then stop off at a village for a spot of plundering and rape.

Klinky, can you change the title of this to Spartan Racing please and ill keep all updates in here far the 3 1/2 guys that follow it

Not had time to do a proper update of my website but a quick rundown here.

Donington was going ok. Had a big ole change in everything over the winter. New job, sponsorship from a coach who has helped my training and mental prep stuff. Everything going super dooper. Went into this feeling bulletproof. Still finding my feet with the 600 having only ridden it a handfull of times. As usual tested on shagged rubber. If you can get them times out well used rubber when you put new boots on its far easier to get athe mosr of them. Especially with the SC's only having about 10 laps at 100% before starting to drop a bit. Got to 1.41's fannying about in trackday traffic.

New rear on for qualifying. Hard to get a clear lap in he Elite 600 field with 41 bikes with spotty young heros all going absolutley batshit crazy. Did 3 laps, couldnt get space, came in and got a mate on the pit wall to try and get me out in a space. So had 1 flying lap and got stuffed into turn 1 by Curtis (who is the Triumph test rider). Qualified 12th out of 41 with a 1.39.1. Went into race confident of low 38's which would run me top 10. Got away ok but was abit excited and trying too hard in first few laps and made some mistakes (see vid ). Arm pump set in, which ive got cured now as it was down to new leathers too tight on forearms and pegs too high so i couldn't use my legs enough.

Bad day overall though. Dropped to 18th in race. A felow rider was killed in the 500 race. Loads of big ones with a few mates injured. Dislocated collar bone, broken hand, broken arm, knocked out. Called a few sponsors and my girl on the sat night saying it didnt feel right and i had a bad vibe. Wanted to come home fresh and reset for next round. Got talked into staying by them all and a few felllow riders.

Sunday warmup made some changes to bike and felt better. Put better rear scrub on for race. Warmer was only on for 45min before we were out. Got a decent enough start, flicked left for craner and tried to drive round the outside to block pass a few of them into old hairpin and lost the rear. Caught it but when it came in it half highsided my out the seat and off the pegs then went out again and i came off the left side of the it. Just missed by another bike who hit my feet and left rubber on my boots! Pure luck i'm not spanked up bad. Bike stayed on its wheels and went left into the tyre wall at easily 100mph. Its not pretty.

This might be racing over for me. Will try and chip way at it to get it back. But its had a big hit.

TV coverage will be on Motrs TV on thursday evening at 8pm, then we will see what actuall happened to the bike coz i've got no idea what gymnastics it actually did.

Thanks to the guys who text me etc with well wishes Appreciate it.

Sucks having a big off more the cost factor than anything, good news sounds like no major injuries.

Good luck getting the bike sorted Gordon.

Mate you should see it. It's hit the rear so hard it broke the shock linkage and smashed the shock into the swingarm so hard it put a hole in it and blew the shock apart! £1200 worth of Ohlins Ttx too! Forks are bent, even bent the yokes! Both wheels. It ain't good man. Just have to take it one thing at a time and see if I can get forks and wheels straightened and shock rebuilt using used parts.
shadowman

Gordon, so sorry to see that. Glad you are ok.
I guess you have been here before with the SD so I know somehow that you will be back.
Best wishes.
Superdan

That suck big time so early on in your season.

Sounds like the bike is proper fuc**d! At least you didnt get run over, metal damage beats flesh damage every time.

Your old SD popped up on here a while back but I can't remember why. From memory it was pictured on the grid of some track looking exactly as it did when you had it.

Good luck replacing or repairing the kwaker. I think I would try and find a scruffy / scrapped one ghat had been down the road on its side and rob all the standard gear off that for yours.

Good luck Gordon, I hope you are back turning fuel into noise very soon! !

The race with the crash will be shown tonight on Motors TV. 8pm. Thundersport Elite is the program.
