As some of you may know, I wont drive my SDR next year. It's rebuilt for the street, my Dad wants to drive it. Im gonna put some pictures in here when it's ready, it is going to look stunning, promise
My favorite picture. Im gonna miss you

I will start in a national championship called DRC. It's a very very fast championship, probably the second fastest after the IDM (IDM = smiliar to BSB)
Most of the starters will drive BMW S1000RR or some other japanese bikes

But not me.
And I wont drive Dunlop or Pirellis like all the other guys (hope this wont be a mistake )
I will start on continental slicks

My bike :
RC8R 2009

First part of the new parts
Akra full exhaust, Öhlins TTX36, different sprockets, LSL handlebars

Everything has to go

Isnt it cute?

That's all so far.
A full cartrdige Öhlins fork, the stockkit for more power and a Bazzaz traction control + quickshifter + fuel commander will follow
Im so excited
i believe tune ecu can be used for your bike... if not for diagnostics control and error codes but for the fact that you can dial in ignition advance as well as fuelling plus you can also quicken up the engine response

i know i go on about tune ecu too much but I can see great things from it

im sure that your dad will love the ex race bike... and im sure that you will do very well on the RC8R
The bazzaz fuel command does the same
You can save 2 different mappings and set a new one for every track and temperature and so on

Hard to explain
Looks like Christmas has come again for you Tead

Which exhaust system is that? looks like the silencer comes up out the side instead of underneith?

When do you get your 1st test ride
It's this exhaust

First testride is in 3 weeks, Pau Arnos
So Jealous!

You are living the dream Tead

Good luck

I notice you weren't running the braced swingarm on the SDR in the pic, did you decide it wasn't worth it? From your previous posts I was getting very close to getting mine braced.
A braced swingarm?
Need more information
Nobody in Germany drives a braced swingarm in the superdukebattle
Will be very interested in your results with the Bazzaz box on an RC8R as that was my plan for my next track bike.

What are the benefits of swapping to Ohlins rear shock though? As opposed to getting the standard shock rebuilt for you. Do you get better support from Ohlins or just prefer the feel.

Looks great though , will be looking forward to seeing you overtaking all those S1000RR's around the outside at 60 degrees of lean Post videos - lots of them

All good Tead. Let us know your race calendar I may try to get over to watch a race or two
You are all invited to korea (no beer in my tent if you dont know whats korea, ask Dutch he was scared ) and meat/sausages or whatever you want to eat if you visit me

But all races are far away from you, I guess :/

1. race 30.04 - 01.05 Schleiz/D
2. race 28.05 - 29.05 Oschersleben/D
3. race 09.07 - 10.07 Hockenheim/D
4. race 03.09 - 04.09 Most/CZ
5. race 17.09 - 18.09 Eurospeedway Lausitz/D

But if it all works out well Im thinking about a wildcard at the Nurburgring in the IDM. 20-22 May
This would be the closest to you guys.

The KTM Superdukebattle has a race in Assen, Netherlands, this would be closer
If I'm remembering correctly the BMW got beat by KTM in the IDM already last year so it should fair pretty well I reckon

I look forward to following your progress Tead.
Nice Tead, so jealous right now!

So how are finding it / liking it Tead
Like MrZ said you ought to check out TuneECU for the RC8R,you can easy import those PowerCommand maps into the program, and alter your mapping best of all is you can even make it better, with more access to variables. There are even some extra maps available for the R.

But if your happy with bike handling at this moment and seems like your having fun with it as seen on the pics, who am I to point that out

It's been a while

175 wheelhorsepower
Stockkit makes it possible

Im in love with this bike already, although the suspension isnt working that good yet, a lot of testriding.
But Im already 2.1 seconds faster on the Lausitzring compared to my superduke, so it's not that bad.
from the last photo it looks like its hard on its tyres?

Bike looks awesome dude.

I think you need to lean a bit more though....
Looks beautifull, love to see these in their racing dress.
Nice going Tead!!

The pac man graphics are indeed AWSOME!!!!

Love the bike, now go out and win us some races!

3.5 seconds faster compared to my superduke
It's been claimed that these low slung akras are earsplitting loud? True?
My exhaust is around 108db without eater, 96db with eater

The underfloor has 110 or even more, it is.... loud

Theoreticly I could drive like this without having my hands on the handlebars
Im using stomp grips on my fuel tank and "hold" me in this position only with my knee/leg. And I've got a seat with a lot of grip

It's been a while

First race at Schleiz in the "DRC" is over.
Had to start from 11 and finished 5. in the first and 3. in the second race

This weekend the KTM Superdukebattle visited Schleiz, too.
My brother finished 6. and 5. place, great race but too exciting for me to watch my little brother

I started in the race series called "Seriensport"
Had to start from 20. position, there is no qualification - dont ask
Finished? Well... a video says more than words could enjoy

and another video from Spa Francorchamps - first visit for me, crazy track

Greets #40
Awesome vids there Tead. Very

Looks like you've gelled with the bike pretty well.
It's getting better everytime I drive her
But I've got too less high speed compression in the fork, have to change the setting
that is an awesome shot there tead

Finishing 13th and 16th in my first IDM race in Schleiz wasnt too bad for my future riding
unfortunatly, KTM doesnt care too much about it so it won't be on a RC8R

Some pictures of my bike + me

IDM Wildcard Schleiz needed a special design most people liked it

That looks awesome! So any ideas what bike will you be running next season, if not KTM?

-Matti
The last pic is a hint
Yamaha?
I put one of your pic's up as my desktop screen Tead.
If you go yababa next year, I have to remove it....
I think it's okay to do so
KTM wont continue in IDM, so I made the right decision... if KTM doesnt pay for the pool, you cant drive with a KTM in the IDM...
