Linga
Well I raced on the weekend and due to my roster I'm now unable to compete in Thunder-bikes but have to race in Clubman1000 Superbikes...
I love my SDR and it has been a massive journey trying to get it to handle and perform, I started with a GoGo spec bike and have modded it from there. Thanks for all the bits and help from everyone (No. 47, for the sub-frame!) as I've been uing them for spares and have lightened the bike to 176kg and still have 10kg to go to reach the limit of the rules.
The day started early and scrutineering took my camera off my bike as they now think anything on the handle bars could cause damage in an off... I refrained from mentioning the brake and clutch lever guards that people are now running as a MotoGP spinoff!
Qualified 3rd as it went off round 5 and got a bad start, but slotted into 3rd and chased the leaders. I wish I had the camera on as I nearly did a Marquez and ran into the back off second a few times rushing the corners and maintaining corner speed. The bike has never felt so good!! On the straights he would pull away, my brake marker was 15m further than his!! I'd pull it all back in at the end of the straight and be on his tail by T1. I passed him on the last lap and came 2nd! my best result yet against the big boys!
The new tyres felt like glue and I'm not sure how I didn't get an elbow down as I couldn't get over further!
I finished the next two races in 4th just not able to get close enough to challenge, for a 3rd overall. A little glass trophy and and a free Pirelli rear of my choice... I love my bike.
I have to thank a few people:
Protwin for the amazing tune on the bike
Motospares.com.au for the bits and bobs
Belray oils
Precicion bearings
Rockingham Powersports for the tyres
CPR Fab for the airboxes
No. 47 for the sub frame!!
Viking for the aluminium bolts!!
