Two wheel drive works in the desert, and in mud. Otherwise, it's a maintenance & weight penalty no one wants. Yamaha has used it (Ohlins built & designed) in the Dakar, and after all, they did better w/o it.
I bet that pig in the picture above weighs 500+ lbs.
