First a quick thanks 2 all for the welcome....and I NO mi spellings crap!!
Had RC8 2 weeks, did run it in in 5 days so had quite a bit of riding time 2 gether. My bikes gearbox was a mile better than Demo from Robinsons but i put this down to adjustments to ME rather than bike. The only recommendation i can make to any owner is lengthen the gear and brake lever ends, i found they are so short you dont get a posative lift or press with the toe. I made new 14mm longer and never missed a gear and my toe suffered no pain after.
Opinion....I LOVE IT...i have had GSXR1000 K5 ,zx7r , K1200R, TUONO over last 5 years and was looking for a sports bike for the longer trips as wind blast is an issue. After going round the NEC show and sitting on all the latest 600's upward and knowing i wanted something comfy over long distance (Gixer gave me back ache , wrist ache , cramp...) something reasonably light (K1200R found to be an excellent bike just need to be a little bit bigger than me to muscle it around) A VEE TWIN prefrebly and realistic running costs. The RC8 fits all my criteria, just a bit more than i intended 2 spend but hey I dont have a new car or go to the pub 3 nights a week so the deal was done. Early days for reliability and a bit cheesed that suspension settings have not been checked before i rode it away but fit and finish are 1st class. Makes the beamer look cheap IMO. I will report back with more info as the miles rack up over summer. I have taken the 2nd & 3rd gear restriction off but not sure its that noticable.
