KTM offroad advice needed

Not getting out on the duke is starting to get me frustrated (fair weather rider no quips please!) starting to get a bit brand loyal and most likely going to buy a KTM off roader to keep me amused in the new year, I will be using it on tracks only.

I had a 250 two stroke before and undecided to get a 250 4 stroke or 250 two stroke..... any thoughts please?

Can you explain some of the different models EXC SX SXF SXS etc etc there seems to be so many models?? im not after an enduro anyway pure dirt bike so which models are they, looking for an 03 04 maybe 05 model.

When you say track only, do you mean motocross track or offroad course?

I've very loyal to KTM, and also have an '06 450 XC + an '07 300 XC-W, but I might be tempted to go Japanese if I was riding MX only, esp. if the much-improved '07-'08's were out of budget.

If you want a MX bike, you'll want to look for an SX (2s) or SXF (4s). KTM didn't make 250 4s MX'ers in the years you're considering.

For my riding (very little MX), I pick the 300 over the 450 about 90% of the time.
