Secret Quarry on XR's

Well spent all yesterday (sat) returning my SDR to street legal after the Cadwell thrap.
Had arranged during the week to meet my mate Jason for a spot of green laning on Sunday. We met up at the usual spot and after a quick chat decided to take a slow ride as my knee was still playing up and he was suffering from falling off his push bike pissed up at 2am this morning

We set off and as per usual the slow pace lasted all of 1/2 mile,i'm leading a Jason keeps showing me his front wheel so i think fook this and were off he get's past easily and i spend the next 3 hours chasing him flat out through Lincolnshire's woods and tracks, that bloke ride's like a nutter and always gets the better of me
Pull up for fuel, were both knackered and decide to go for a full English late breakie and call it a day after.
While scoffing egg's ,bacon, sausage, tom's fried bread and bread and butter washed down with milky weak tea Jason tells me about a disused quarry that's been shut up for the last 5 years, the entrance is fence'd off but he's found a way in round the back
So feeling rather bloated we head off to the secret quarry..........absolutely awesome and we got the lot all to ourselfe's,it an off road rider's paradise evidently a trials club rent it out a few time's a year for competitions. There's jumps a plenty we did'nt explore it all as after breakie both off us were feeling lethargic Jason did however descend and climb back up a really steep part which the vid does'nt do justice too i played it safe and did a couple of jump's and nearly ripped my side stand off Can't wait for next weekend to come round again

Right another chapter in our Linc's laning saga. Met Jason again on Sunday morning 8th Aug set off for the Leicestershire boarder after briefly meeting up with 3 other off roaders for a quick chat, one a lass on a yam 250 it turns out works for B+C express just down the road from me chain and sprocket discount's for the future ? we'll have to wait n see

Got into Leicestershire after the usuall 30 odd mile cross country competative tussle only to find that some do gooder's from the council had authorised the levelling of the best 3 mile muddy/rutted section through a wood in the area, and stoned it up all the way through . WTF no doubt the fooking old age pensioner's rambling asociation had complained about all the mud,we're in a recession and they spend fook know's how much on this it's so far off the beaten track that it make's no sense at all.

We decide to head back into Lincolnshire and suss out another disused quarry that we had located off the map. It turned out to be quite small but mile's from anywhere so no chance of getting rumbled for tresspassing
Jason's straight on it attacking the steep slope's like the wall off death that you see at Skegvagas in summer, the bloke's got no fear me ....well i give it a go eventually after loads of slagging off but dont get nowhere near the height of Jason the bastid. Then on the next section i really cock it up,ending with the bike perched on a ledge with the engine still running but without me:oops:
I've got off the bike as it was stuck on the bash plate and tried to free it,then lost my footing and slipped down the slope.Jason's pissing himself laughing but has managed to capture it all on video which he's refusing to delete

I decide the best place for me is behined the camera off the bike, and get a few decent shot's of Jason making it look easy

Image

He did fook up though and i got it on film

Image

Luckily for me Jason's a bigger spaz than me when it come's to downloading video footage and pic's onto a computer so hopefully my fook ups will never be seen
The return journey was even more competative than earlier with me trying to salvage some pride and stay in front Jason binned it twice both time's getting cross rutted and highsiding into the undergrowth this happen's so rarely that after checking he was'nt badly hurt the pisstaking was relentless
The bike's stood up to the challenge yet again apart from an exhaust bracket shearing off on my bike which i'll get welded up this week, but now just waiting for the weekend to come back round

ooooh man, I just used to love those days, a few of us green laning and a few quarries, taking on hill's you didn't think possible then taking on even steeper stuff. Unfortunatley them days is no more as you can't even start yer bike if yer near a tree these days. Those goddamn ramblers are tooo big to win against and the whole of somerset only has 2 legal miles of green lane left, and theyre just wide dusty tracks

Out again today no quarrie's though as we've had loadsa rain over the last couple of day's.
Camera stayed tucked away as i mounted my video, got mile's of footage but a lot is marred by the lens being covered in mud most of the time footage show's us being considerate to dog walkers (slowing down) and catching a couple of pony n traps round a bend which brought the anchor's on sharpish.
Also came across a couple of KTM's and a 426WR Yam who were negotiating a slippery slope up through the woods, they thought it was quite difficult so myself and jason nailed it to the top and back down without a stumble, said cheers and then fooked off

Very short sample of the day
