Where to rent motos in Ireland?

Any suggestions? Any special licensing or insurance matters to be aware of?

Ooooooh - someone is gonna ask "which part of Ireland" ... Republic of ... may make it up North, but not much is planned. Considering however, an extension on the front end to go up to Isle of Man - yeah, you all know what for.

OK, I'm aware that being able to rent a SD is probably out of the question, but maybe an early 2000's VFR or something? Don''t need an S100RR.

Not looking for Charlie and Ewan's rides, or various facsimiles - but something roadworthy that goes around corners decently, maybe has a little luggage capacity, and what have you. Think sport touring, unless someone offers up a compelling reason to get something else.

Just day tripping. Not camping, and I have no pretensions that I'll be practicing for Paris-Dakar (or Argentina-Chile, etc).

Any advice, contacts or recommended vendor information is appreciated.

He SDNerd,

The Motorbike rental market is very limited in Ireland - think it's down to insurance cost Plus the market is very small - maybe due to the weather? Anyway, don't let it put you off! Some of the roads and views are amazing. If you plan to come over I'd suggest you plan it during the Irish Road Racing season. (Check Youtube for some video's if you want to know why ... You will not see anything like it anywhere else in the world!!)

These lads are very near the airport in Dublin - I'm sure they'll be able to answer any questions.

Unfortunately choice is your usual Honda, BMW, Harley bikes.
A BMW GS does make sense if you plan to tour the island. It gives you the option to deal with different road conditions.

Anyway - I'm happy to provide more info or answer any questions.
If you do come over we might even meet up for a Pint?
Cheers!
