hello people

quick query for you . will putting 05/06 cams into an 07 make any diff to the top end power of the motor? i have an 07 sd with a motobox , pc3 and custom map and graves cans . all in all pretty happy but i seem to remember the earlier models being a bit stronger up top end . according to dynojet uk i have 122 rear wheel horse power , so not to bad . but you all know how addictive these damn bikes are and i cant help wanting as much as poss . bit greedy that way . cheers all .

take it easy

I think that 05/06 cams require different ignition angle and map. 05/06 cams come from lc8 950 which was more low rev engine.
Hi,

somebody knows the exact difference of 05/06 and 07- cams? No i maybe know why 07 tuneecu mapping from leirer otto did not work well on my 06...
I saw that maps 06 and 07 are very different...
the first 3 numbers of you map for an 05/06 should be 610... how on earth did you load a 611 (07 onwards)onto your bike... it should not let you and with the ktm tool has been known to brick an ecu (dumb dealer mechanics).

However i tried copying and pasting the maps from an 06 across to an 08 and the timing is not right... does not work at all.

this is due to the 06 cams being for more of a mid range punch... unfortunately they smoothened it out on the 07 onwards
