Well, from the reaction I WAS wondering if I'd taken TOO MANY steroids before posting.
Getting back to the technical issue...
The 'recall re-map' is certainly a decent attempt to solve that difficult throttle 'off' to throttle 'just on' moment. & I think it does a good job (as this is the ONLY aspect of riding the SD that I don't find really easy to control - apart from the really stupid grin) but haven't spent enough time with those tricky really slow corner's since, where it has stuttered before, to give you qualified feedback.
If I can report back without my brain exploding again - I'll do so. Given I'm off to Mallory Park on Saturday, there is a good opportunity to really get a feel for it (except the forecast is for sleet and snow).
& yes, I removed the 2nd & 3rd gear sensor wires. I highly recommend this change. It is really easy to do and gives a complete change of characteristic to 2nd & 3rd - so now all gears pull the same. Which makes sense....
(& BTW; do KTM deliberately leak out these reverses of modifications they have to put in to meet the legal requirements?).
But I'd still like to know what is the closed feedback loop they are tinkering with, with what kind of sensors, and why is it taking so long to get it right?
Nicer?
