1290 Heated Grips Tip

I recently installed heated grips and noticed a potential problem with the clearance of the plastic wire holder when the wheel is turned fully right. It's not likely anyone would be throttling up while doing a hard right turn but if you did and the steering stop is not adjusted properly it would break the plastic..

Also my left handle bar was only tapped for one screw for holding the grip and had to drill and tap the 2nd screw on top, anyone else have this issue?

It gets cold way up north of Fort Lauderdale
I once heard a saying
Florida, the further north you get, the further south you are.

In arizona and I have heated grips. I was surprised to read you had a hole drilled in your left handlebar at all. I drilled both upper and lower holes and yes I adjusted my steering lock to prevent the grip wire from hitting also. As a matter of fact I have the roadlock disc lock because I had to adjust the steering lock on the left turn side so you wouldn't crush your hand in the tank which doesn't allow you to lock the handlebar. So at least I can lock the bike to prevent a roll away theft.

I also have the heated grips of ktm. Just checked it, 1cm clearance

I also had a problem with KTM heated grip wire fouling on the tank at full lock. Just tilted the bars forward until I had clearance. Rather this solution than losing steering lock.

I answer that question at least once a day, sorry I'm sick of it!
Use the freaking search button!!!!!

You see, nothing like an angry response to make people sort it out themselves!

I remember way back when you were young and kind. You would say things like
"Search is your friend"
" You need to use an image hosting service"
Now look at you, old an all curmudgeonly

great idea.
Maybe it can be built into sign up instructions and any new member that asks will be eliminated.
Hell what fun would the old fart have then, he'd probably fall back to his wobbly rearend routine and bore all us to death.
Worse yet, carry on about how hot it is while two thirds of the members are in withdrawal with their bikes in hibernation.
Funny I have not seen any other red titled members stepping up to the plate as of late.
