If you can find a good dyno shop with PCIII AND SD experience within striking range get it dyno tuned. They all (SDs) vary a little and your setup sounds like it's running less-than-perfect fueling if it feels like it has a bit of a flat spot.
The SDR has some head mods (titanium valves and some other gizmos) plus a 10500 rev limit. Torque is much the same - it just makes it for longer
Your bike will have a 16T sprocket as standard if it's an 07, BTW.
