Actually I stand corrected I removed the right hand spoiler before it went in for a service to top up the oil after my East Coast Trip and there was plent of space then. This leads me to believe the tank has warped or been damaged. It was just in for a service. The dealer has promised to replace my tank as it was also scratched. Just seems very strange how this could happen. This will be my second replaced tank!

I'm not happy. It is off season which is no big deal but concerned about this type of thing happening and why.
Topendz, Hey man....keep yer cool, I crashed mine on the left side and

was happy to see the plastic tank weathered it just fine, the lay down was

minor to me bike but messed me up quite badly. I hate to hear of

something like a quality control issue with the ktm dealership, you would

assume that the technician would have caught yer problem before you had

recieved yer SD back, esp. since ye had already had these problems before?

I think on KTM's web site there is an option to bitch about yer dealer on

there somewhere? I had seen it many months ago, but really,,,,that does

little if any good. I am sorry to hear of yer ongoing delima, hope it all gets

sorted out soon.

Bizarre problem. Hopefully the third tank will be perfect and never run dry.
This bike has never been dropped. Take a look at these pictures. I was trying to figure out if there is another reason the bolt doesn't allign. Very strange.

Topendz, I hope you are not just messing with my mind here?

No, thats is not right at all, I know you may say Duhhh??? but let me tell ya

it was a little bit of a brain teaser when I put my new tank sheild on mine

when I was fixing it? how in this world did the dealer have it together for

you to take when you picked it up? The way it looks to me is....Like the

skidmarx hugger and bellypan I have just installled, the instructions read

as such,,,,put this one bolt in and do not tighten,,,,then it is to the next

bolt and do not tighten it, so on and so forth, Have you done this in this fashon?

if you haven't tryed already the do it and change which bolt you put in first.
Topendz - my front bolt looks just like yours but the one closer to the rear has way more room. I'll go take a couple of photos and if I can figure out how will post them. I'll take some of the other side too in case it helps figure out what is out of place on yours.
Look my bike is in the locked like fort knox garage so i will do my best to help, in yer first pic, the tank is hitting the oil tank mount, there is only 2 bolts in the back and one in the front, if ye take those out and move it around see if that may help. this is frustrating for sure cos I cannot type fer shit.
