208RR front worth wearing out?

I loathe tyre threads, but I've searched this site and others for an answer to this question.

I'm converting a set of SD wheels to fit my SE as my street set. The very slightly used front wheel I've obtained has a 208RR on it with 960 straight-up-and-down miles on it--the chicken strips are about an inch wide.

Is the 208RR worth wearing out? What rear would match up with it? I emailed Dunlop--and kudos to them for responding--but they said nothing in their current lineup has a comparable profile, and they strongly discourage mis-matching (lawyers?).

Should I just ditch it for a matched set of...?

Stobie, you would be a better judge of tyre than me, personally I buy new, matched, fresh rubber that will be sticky in all weather conditions,

M-3 is my weapon of choice right now. joe was a dedicated dunlop man for many years, the newest tyres are different than the old ones,

tyre technology has came a long long way in recent years. I do not like the pirelli coarsa III for cool weather.

certain tyres are not made for the 1000cc V-Twins, I would choose two that are designed for them.

taking consideration of your objective and intention of riding style. The dunlop qualifier is the nearest match.

Thanks for the response, Joe.

This forum, and some sportbike forums I've checked, have shown universal love for the M3. They seem to be very well-liked by riders who don't care about the bling factor of Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's. They're on my short list.

How did you like the Pirelli Scorpion Syncs on your 950SM? Most of the 950SM riders I know are sticking with them.
