Yes and yes
My dyno bench guy is buddy so it would be realy nice to find someone that would share their map ...
i have mine out and bike runs great. i have heard people say to leave them but its too late on my bike as the previous owner filled the shaft holes either way i am very happy how my bike runs
What mods do you run ?

I can probably send you some cash if you would send me your map, that is if we have similar mods.

this is what i am running :
- Rotweiler Filter
- RC8 throttle inntakes
- no sas
- Akrapovic header / downpipe
- Yoshimura silencers

- And now i am also considering removing 2nd throttle flies
still cant find any related to my mods

Bottom of the first post, 08 SDR Shade fuel - Otto ignition - motobox - flies - pipes.hex (meant to be an awesome map)

There was another one that No. 47 had referenced (Jockes map), but it seems to have disappeared
Thanks guys .
Ill check it out .

I will try that Ottos map, have it on my pc already
But unfortunately its not created to be without 2nd throttle flies
ottos map is no good for your set up , do as jame box has said
whitch one was that ?
He reffers to Ottos map
I took my 2nd flys out, since it seemed like that was the generally accepted thing to do. However when I had my bike custom mapped by a dyno tuner he said I should have left them in. He told me that when properly mapped by a tuner that knows what he's doing the 990 can be made to run smoother and stronger with the flys than without. He said it's a pretty small difference so I decided not to bother with putting them back in. But if I had it to do over I'd leave them alone I think.
My understnding from doing this on a first Gen Yam FZ was that the flies helped create a turbulence that improved intake velocity, but the gains were small and primarily top end. The concern in the SD with no flies has been stumbling with WOT at low speeds because of the nature of the intake velocity of a large bore vtwin, but to my knowledge, nobody has every reported this. I run Motoflies in the Duchess, but can't tell you it gives me any advantage as I have never run her with the flies out.
