I assume you're already running a 16Tooth countershaft sproket. With regards to the 41T rear, any KTM dealer will be able to get you the KTM Stealth Rear Sprocket, they are a little spendy though at around $115-120US.

There also appears to be another company that makes 41Toothers for our bikes, that company is . I've used them on my Ninja and they seem to be really durable (steel) and properly priced. I'm betting that you should be able to pick those up from any Parts Express dealer. People usually don't have those in stock in a brick-and-mortar shop, which you should be supporting, so it may take a couple of days for you to get it when you order them.

thanks doc for the link, this is helpful to the forum, now I am a 16x41 believer and agree with the ape, try the rear cos the alloy sprocket will greatly extend the life of the chain, try PMPsprockets.com and tell Kim you are from this forum and joe sent you, they have orange but the bronze (hardened) is the best choice if color is not everything to you. Not sure why but I can not find their direct link.. (Precision Motorcycle Products) they are in TX. with a 1-800 #

hey Joe, how much does PMP charge for 520 sprockets to fit the SD? I'm probably gonna go with a 16/40 setup. Already ordered a new chain as the stocker already has a bit of rust on it. Dont ask me how because I've never cleaned it with water.

I'll check the tooth count on both but mine's an 07 so it should be 16/38 with a 525 chain pitch from the factory. I'm not changing just because of the rust. The rust is a factor but I also wanted to upgrade the ugly rear sprocket, shorten the gearing, and lose some rotational/unsprung weight.

I'll call PMP today. Hopefully they have the counter shaft sprockets as well.
