I'm replacing the graphite ring that joins the rear exhaust to the rest of the system as it's blown out somewhere in Spain...
I've got the rear exhaust studs out but the front ones seem to have shrunk! The 13mm spanner I used for the rear is too loose for the front nuts. I've tried my socket set too and have the same problem, it just turns over the nut with very little force and they don't look badly rounded at all...
Any advice?
Cheers

I've replaced mine before without loosening the front - no easy but possible - otherwise molegrips?

If you can't stay young, at least stay immature.
Well you asked for advice.....
But back to the real world, I ended getting the blow torch/mole grips on mine. But mine snapped the stud as well, so be careful.

Put on load of penetrating oil and try driving on an old imperial socket to loosen the nut. I have snapped off studs before- they are not too strong. I would strongly recommend buying a couple of sets of new nuts and replace them each opportunity when you do exhaust work. They are made of some sort of copper alloy and you can get them sent in a few days from somewhere like Jim Aim.

Putting some heat in it might help too

Cheers for the advice, seems like I need to buy some new nuts as this could be a destructive operation
