Hey Guys,I have been riding my duke a little since I installed the motobox and the fmf pipes. The bike seems to be running good no popping. Power is good. I still have the stock map.
I rode it today to and from work. It was a hot day about 110+degrees on the way and about 85 on the way home. Here is the the thing I feel more heat on my legs, more than stock.
My thinking is because the old air box is gone. Is this a normal thing to feel the heat? My motor temp is normal.
Next is I only have about 16-20 miles on the clock since the install. After I turn the bike off I smell like something is burning. I think it is the new exhaust. Smells like the metal. How long does it take for new pipes to break in? I checked the bike everything looks ok.
I am taking it to the dlr this wed. I hope they got there stuff in from KTM so they can load the akra map when they do the 600 miles service. I just want to make sure I did everything right on the install. It was pretty intence for me. I had the whole bike apart My bro was there who is a mech. We did alot in one day the box ,the pipes and the tail tidy. I am an old school guy these modern bikes are much more complicated. I know most of you guys have done the motobox change I love the product, thinks it's the bomb. Just want to make sure I did not screw anything up. I am just worried about the heat and the burning smell I live in a hot climate. It justs feels the bike is running hot. The temp guage says everything is ok. Is that enough? Thanks guys for any input.

Its the lack of gaps after a full stop that makes it exhausting to read

New pipes are going to smell a bit. I'd seriously look a Arka map or custom map rather than running the standard. You upped the air flow both before and after combustion and I would think you may be running the risk of being lean now. If you have or can get a TuneECU cable there is probably a custom map that matches your bike to download.
