Akrapovic Headers

My bike is an ex-Superduke Battle bike. (2005)
It has the round Akra end cans but I think its got the stock headers.
How can I tell whether its got the original headers or the Akra evos?

There are about 4 different types of headers available.

Are they stainless or ti ?

OK, no markings on the headers so, as expected, not Akra headers but: here are some snaps just to be on the safe side as Evo headers are £600 a go.

I was pretty certain they were stock: I just needed confirmation before I go out and buy a new set.

Excuse my ignorance,.....but as my 07 SD has what I consider enormous Diameter stock headers after I had them off and ceramic coated when fitting my Akrapovic mufflers,.. What advantage is to be had from the expense of fitting Akrapovic or other aftermarket headers on this bike ?

KTM say that the round Akra cans won't fit the Evo headers.
Does anyone know why and how hard would it be to make them fit 'cos I'm not paying nearly £1200 for a set of evo cans and £600 for a set of evo headers: that's just rude.

The full system has a bigger diameter all the way through the system including the can outlets.

The newer SDR headers will fit the std cans but aren't a true full system in the way that the evolution headers are and only have an increased diamter in certain places.

surely a bit of duct tape and exhaust paste would do it?? 3-5mm's nothing!

also the Akro race headers attach differently to the "Y" pc than the stock SD & SRD which both use a ball and clamp joint. the race headers use a machined coupling
that attaches the 2 pieces with springs, so the "Y" is different as well. i think from what i remember, you order the headers and the mufflers come with the Y pc so you have to make sure you get the part numbers right
or you will wind up with the Akropovic mufflers for the standard SD or SDR system. does that make sense??
