Thanks Gregz, I only wanted it to check if I had the right map on my ecu, but I've had a Power Commander fitted now so it doesn't matter.

Is anyone able to get their hands on a copy of the akrapovic slipon map??

Local dealers have the tool, but are not a twins dealer and therefore cannot download the necessary map from the dealer network. If I can get them the file, they'll help me out with loading it.

Have been treated like shit by the closest KTM twins dealer I rang to politely ask a question. I do not want to give the arseholes at procycles in hornsby a single cent of my money.

Can anyone lend a superduke brother a hand???

I'll try, but no guaranty as my contact at the stealer doesn't do the computer stuff.

Thanks mate,

Just called up this dealer and asked what I thought was a polite and reasonable question to be treated with contempt.

I appreciate the effort.

Have you considered TuneBoy and doing it yourself? I use it with the AKRA offroad map with tremendous results. If you don't want to fork out the full amount then you might be able to find a friendly forum member in Sydney with the cable. You just need to pay TuneBoy the $199 for an additional license key. Personally I'd rather spend a grand than deal with somebody that I think is an arsehole (not that I'm taking sides). If you took this route the map is the same as you'd get from the dealer. You can then do dyno fine tuning if you want but finding someone with TuneBoy experience is not as easy as finding PC experience (Wayne at Tuneboy take note - publish a list on your web site).

I'm not sure if Gregz uses Tuneboy - I think he is in Sydney.

Talked to the contact. The boss doesn't let the laptop with the ktm soft out of sight as allegedly it cost a small fortune to get it. The "contact" as mentioned before is no computer wizz and he is not sure if he can sponge the map on to a usb stick.
Sorry dude but not much hope so far.
Got good spanner men on hand should I need a hand, the problem is that there are so few twins dealers. I have a friend who is a certified technician who had a falling out with the owners of the local shop. He's got the tools, he's just not sure he has access to the DB for the maps from KTM.

I'm not going to be dealing with idiots, people who clearly don't understand that word of mouth marketing and repeat business are things to be cultivated and cared for.

Ah well, keep searching. Have PC3, need a new base map. Not keen on spending additional external ECU money without real need.
Not sure if we are on the same page. As far as I can ascertain you have a PC3 and need a base AKRA map which your friend will load. If that is so why don't you just download one from the PowerCommander site or the Tuneboy site or indeed from this forum? My suggestion on TuneBoy was made without knowledge that you already had a PC3.

If you already have a PCIII, with it being that difficult to get it loaded I wouldn't worry about the akra map and just map the PCIII off the std ecu map and do the 2nd/3rd Gear Sensor mod to remove the restrictions.

Akra map is an ideal for having a good fall back and writing out the gear restriction within the map but certainly shouldn't be considered a blockade to getting your bike mapped right.
