Akrapovic mapping for USA

I am lucky enough to have access to KTMdealer.net to order parts, check on backorders, etc. (my @#%#$% Akra silencers to go with my Ti headers won't arrive from KTM till AFTER I leave on my riding vacation to MotoGP at Laguna...). I have been blessed with a wife who sells KTMs for a living and loves riding (a pair of '07 SDs in the garage, his and hers). I also have the KTM Keihin diagnostic, mapping and DMT software on my laptop as I have been doing the re-mapping (and resets) for the shop. Thats where a misconception comes into play....

Akrapovic provides exactly one map of all Akrapovic slipons and silence/header combos...only one....for the '07 SD, for the USA and EU, there is ONLY ONE MAP. For the 05-06 EU boys, there are two different maps, one for stock headers with slipon, one for Akra headers and muffs. The french boys get a special 100PS map for their bikes.

I have the excel spread sheet printout in front of me as I write this and have both EU maps for the 05-06 (no, they will not load onto an '07...error message saying wrong part number when attempted to load). I also have the stock map and I have downloaded maps from KTMdealer.net for both the slipon (loaded up the map for the wife's SD, she had the carbon Leo's) and full system...same map...KM611US0704530_FAN.DLZ for USA and KM611EU0704530_FAN.DLZ for the EU.

If someone from KTM tech land is out there and they have some special map for the full system for the '07, let me know where to find it on KTMdealer.net so I can download it cause according to KTM documentation, there ain't one.

All I know is I WANTED MY FREAKING FULL SYSTEM FOR MY N. CALIF RIDE TO MOTOGP!!!!! But noooooooooooooo, KTM parts had to be in TRAINING at the beginning of the week...so it shipped too flippin' late

Have a nice day.......jj

So, can you compare the 05/06 - 07 maps.... ??

Patience, I'm afraid!

unfortunately, it would take somebody way more computer savy than me to figure out what software wrote the files, break into them to read them and figure out how the keihin ECU interpets the code given to it.

In the end, the easiest wll prob. be a PCIII and dyno time to fine tune. Don't know what drove the change or why but, I will keep my eyes open if there are any updates to the mapping.
