well....seems there are a variety of opinions on re-mapping...but I still don't understand how to get it done (if and when I do want it done)...Is it just a matter of a dealer reprogramming the FI? Like I said, I'm a long way from any dealer..the closest is about a five hour ride and they seem to only sell KTM as sideline...they are rated to work on the bike but I am not sure I can rely on them.

The Akra exhausts sure did go on nice and easy though..only took about 45 minutes...and everything was relatively easy to get at and everything fit properly....nothing like working on a Suzuki...I recall putting a high quality (Arata) full Ti sytem on an SV 650...the whole rear end had to be demolished first, including monoshock, rear wheel, all the plastic, etc...it took a solid 19 hours!!!!!!!

..and the Akras run cool (I could touch them with my full hand after a 2 hour ride and not burn myself) and are not very loud...a bit louder than stock but not that much...

If cash is not a big issue then go for a Tuneboy. It will allow you to load the stock Akra map to your ECU (plug under seat to right of fuses) - assuming you have a laptop or can reach your driveway from your PC (as I do out my spare room window)

If you then change the pipes back you can reload the right map for those.

The map you want for the Akra slip ons is KM610AK050D03.dat
