Anyone know what mod this is?

I took apart the bike this weekend and came across a plug that was by itself. It seemed extremely weird and started freaking me out because i couldnt find the other end putting the bike back together. I found the plug it belonged to, and it seems the previous owner just bridged the connections.

Anyone know the reason for this mod and if it affects anything? The unplugged plug goes to the header of the front cylinder.

O2 sensor eliminator plug - you should find one for the rear cylinder exhaust as well.
