Bar mounted rear brake

ello,

Had my 08 sd for a week now and its flipping quick and lots of fun!
Im having problems using rear brake (had 7 ankle ops and finally an ankle fusion which means i have no movement in right ankle)

Has anyone got any good info or links for rear brake bar conversions? I ve seen a few ads but they have pices in the £1000s to £2000.It seems rather a lot to me

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Mac,

The only ones I have actually seen were AP racing components. From memory they were expensive and not all that great if the owners were to be believed. Is this for racing? Can't remember the last time I used the back brake on the road, with the SD engine braking I doubt the back break would add much retardation anyway.

Its not for racing unless you count the weekends blasting around the south west hehehe.

As you mentioned the lack of rear brake use I have to agree. Always had sports bikes with decent front brakes. The sd on the other hand has awesome front brakes. Only really using the back to stop me flipping wheelies.

Its more a legal thing. Im not sure where istand with ref to my injury and what DVLA class it as....

The only time I use the back brake is if I've got any surface corrosion on it.

As said before, the front brake does more than a good enough job, combine that with engine braking there wont really be any difference if the rear was used or not.

As for the DVLA, I have no idea, but what they don't know....

Seen a few like that on fleabay at roughly the same price.
Still looking for a bargain and decidng what i need to do ref dvla.As some one said "what they dont know...."could it Possibly affect insurance if i had an off.

I`ll do some more digging and thanks for the replies.
