Battery box mods?

I have my 08 SDR parked for the winter and the battery has been removed. Is there a way to keep the battery in the bike, connected and still charge it without causing damage to the bike electronics and keeping the battery in good shape? If any of you have any mods you have done or any kits you can buy can you post link and or Pics of what you have done?

I think optimate comes with a charging lead that you leave on, and have the other end where ever suits you !

I have a Battery Tender set up on mine. The connection lead stays on the bike. When I pull into the garage, the ac adaptor is already plugged into the wall with the wire dangling. I just plug it into the bike at that point.... viola!

I have an optimate 4 and low and behold the bike ( I bought from new ) already had the lead wired to the battery so it was a 2 second job to plug in the optimate

Best Install adivce? This should not be a hard job to do but any advice from guys that have installed the Battery tender would be great. Best location for ease of installation and functionality.
