Battery charging leads.....

Hello all,

Happy New Year and all that.

I've had a look at the battery on my SD as I want to attach an Optimate charger permanent lead so I can just plug in the charger whenever without removing the lower cowl. Looks very tight in there

Has anyone manged to do this and do you have any pics of how it fits and where the connector sits once the cowl has been replaced?

Is yours connected to both battery terminals or the starter thingy that I have no idea where or what???

Yeah mine is connected to the battery, im sure I had a rubber cap on when I got it, I suspect it may have blown off during riding or some jet washing oh well.

ALWAYS DICONNECT THE EARTH BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING LIKE THIS ONE SLIP AND BANG IF YOU DON'T

I attached my optimate lead the other day. Mine has an inline fuse which is too bulky to fit into the box, so I simply cut a small notch in the door of the battery box to for the optimate leads to sit into, allowing the door to be close more or less unhindered.
Then the inline fuse has plenty of room and is zip tied to the existing cables, and the rubber booted connector can be simply popped out from the top of the lolwer fairing when required.
