Purchased my 08 SD about 6 weeks ago. It was a KTM media relations bike with extremly low miles (under 300). I'm guessing it sat around for many months at a time without any use. I have been riding it just about every weekend. This past weekend I tried to start it and it rolled over slowley and then wouldn't start. I bought a Battery Tender and charged it. Seemed OK. But yesterday I did a quick evening ride. It started up OK (on the Tender since the weekend) but when I got home after a 20 minute ride I turned it off to open my garage. Tried to start it again and bingo...no start...and an error code "Low 32". I'm guessing that means the battery is shot and not able to hold a charge? Is there any definitive way to absolutely know it's the battery, and not a bad generator?
