Aegis Bearing Mel, oil will not travel up, it always migrates down, gravity sucks, (valve cover gasket if it is coming down on the front header).ML
more than likely something above the furthest high spot of oil you can see, oil leaks are tricky to isolate on auto's, not so on bikes,
take off as many parts as you need to,, to see the leak physically, or trust your dealer to take care of it, this is all ye can dew.
nearly forgot, thare are reports that if ye overfill yer engine it can and will do just what you are describing. don't overfill yer sweety.
