I'm making a bit of progress on my SD project and getting round to changing some corroded bolts for new stainless versions.

One of the chain tension adjuster bolts was stuck so hard that it bent (a lot!) in the removal process. Must have been very close to shearing off altogether but happily I didn't have to face that problem.

My bike is a 2009 SD. Does anybody know what pitch they are as I want to order from a bolt supplier and not from KTM where, if they are available at all they will be much more expensive.

I'm also looking for a few of the flat round aluminium spacers that the bodywork bolt heads nestle into but I guess KTM will be the only source of those.

Thanks

Ignore this thread.

KTM only wanted a couple of quid and I also go the spacers that I needed at the same time.

Lucky that came out!

I had a motocross bike that the bolts corroded into the swingarm and both broke when I tried to adjust the chain tension, I had no way if getting them out so took it to an engineer, afterwards he told me it was the worst job they'd ever had and never again, 2 guys spent over 4 hours getting them out and re threading it.

All because none of the previous owners had never bothered pulling them out and putting on some anti seize or a generous amount of grease. If you haven't done yours get out in the garage and do it now!

I did think that I was in the shit!

Broke my three eights and half inch rachets in the process. Used copious release agent, a breaker bar and patience. Got a tiny bit of movement, wofkdd it back and forth slowly expanding the envelope until eventually it gave up. Bolt was well bent and must have been very close to shearing off altogether.

Like almost every allegedly simple task I have undertaken on the bike it fought me every millimetre of thr way. Thank goodness it's almost finished.
