Bamm-Bamm
Hi all,
I have just received the twin piston rear caliper and mount I ordered from Ebay UK. It appears the caliper is identical to the Adventure one which fits the SD however the Caliper and mount I bought were off a 990 Supermoto... lets take a chance I thought...how different could it be
So I broke out the tools and got to it....everything is sweet BUT....
The factory rear caliper mount is perhaps 8-10mm thicker than the replacement one that came with the twin piston caliper....other than that everything lines up great...brake lines are good, caiper mount slides into channel on swingarm, pads are positioned well on the disc.... it's just the mount that is too narrow.
I was thinking of going to an engineering place and getting a round spacer machined up out of aluminium to take up the 8-10mm difference in thickness....do you think that would be suitable?
Oh and I already tried to swaap the calipers on the mounts...the mounting hole is out by about 5mm
