Break in and first oil change

I'm following the manufacturers recomendations for the break in and the first 1100 km are now full. However the shop doesn't have the time to maintenance the bike for the next week. They say it's ok to continue driving. Is there any potential harm to do let's say max 2000 km before the first oil change? Should I just cough it up and just look the bike for the next week or can and should I continue driving the beast? I think that if the shop says just continue this is ok for the bike and the guarantee. Opinions please. And no, there's no option to do the oil change myself on the city street..

Your choice my friend. If it gives you piece of mind not to put anymore miles on it then go that route. I would myself would wait, but I'm anal like that. But I'm sure you won't do any harm by putting more miles on it.

Personally I would not recommend this.
I did the first service myself and I never have seen so much crap comming out of an engine at the first service as with the SD.
LOTS of fine metal stuck to the magnet and filters and the oil looked pretty grey! Other members here have similar stories.
I even asked the dealer about it and they said all LC4's have this.
After the first service it cleared up however and all is fine.

My advice is, get the first service done as recommended on the SD!
Also don't know why they can't fit you in, it only takes an hour maximum to do the first service on an SD

Thanks for the comments. I did read about the metal waste in the oil for SD's and that was the part that did make me little bit uncomfortable. Would think that the oil filter would get these but I guess not..

Perhaps it's better to hold off for the piece of mind for the next week.

my first oil change on the SD was really simple.......mainly coz KTM Australia decided my engine didn't req' an oil filter.
So, it was quicker than the one hour KtMguy said.

why dont you just change it yourself if you are that worried (you can change it on the street or in a parking lot)?
if you dont want to i dont think another week is gonna affect anything, thats what the magnets and 3 filters are there for, to trap the metal, youll be fine.
