Er... they also LOOK as if they'd be better ! To be honest the standard brakes are so good any improvement would be minimal surely ?...I had them for another project so I thought I would try them out...they certainly FEEL nice to use.

Surely a larger bore master cylinder will improve braking, reduce travel but reduce feel? A smaller bore will increase travel but increase feel, you can't have it both ways, there has to be a trade off somewhere.
