Just to clarify the 1156 part # is for the rear brake light. I'll double check my manual for the bulb type. I did replace my main headlight bulb with a PIAA H4 Extreme white. I did the same for my Ducati and it lasted over a year but I just noticed my high beam is very dim so I need to replace it. THanks guys for your feedback.

bike tail light bulbs are 1157 - two filaments, one for tail, one more for brake.

1156 is one filament, maybe used in some cars that have separate bulbs for tail and brake.

I think best headlight bulbs are Osram Silverstar and Phillips Vision Plus.

I fitted the HID Xenon headlight bulb kit in mine. It is a good 3x brighter than old light and being closer to daylight is far more useful than the warm tungsten bulbs. Love the way they slowly warm up too Plus on the safety side everyone can see you coming.
