Broken Oil level tube

Picked up my new SD yesterday.
Got it home (50km's trip) and found that it was leaking oil from the oil level tube (clear tube).
It had split at the top at the connector.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Not a good start to owning a new SD

Anyway I got some oversize clear tube and hose clamps from the hardware shop and patched it up.
Taking it back the dealer to get it replaced next weekend.

Did a 300km loop with the patch and only lost a small amount of oil so no big dramas I guess.
old story, new day. No rest for the weary, and no reward.

mine cracked a month ago kiwi. (at the top of Mt Mee ) replaced under warranty within 2 days @ moorooka. They said it was the last in the country! hope theres one for u..
oh btw. i taped it up with some good ole gaff and it didnt leak a drop for the whole long weekend! Theres very little pressure behind it. I dont see why they crack tho. seems like its common (and they all crack at the same bit at the top fitting!?!)
