Cam Chain Tensioner Potential Issue

On my 07 SDR, after covering only 3200 miles (hard ridden), the cam chain tensioner is buggered

When asked if it was common, the dealer said "it's happened to a few and KTM have brought out a modified part for the affected machines".

I also asked if there had been a recall for the issue and the blunt answer to that is NO.

If there is a modified part, shouldn't there realistically have been a recall because they expect problems to arise?

If I hadn't ridden the bike so hard, would the problem have appeared after warranty had expired?

Are KTM holding out on a recall on affected models hoping that in most cases, the issue will not rear its ugly head until the warranty has run out?

To top it off, the dealer has had my bike for 3 weeks now without being offered a courtesy bike and still no sign of it coming back fixed.

Also, not sure if anyone else has experienced this but the bike lives in the entrance to our shop and the BAR ENDS have rusted up and now resemble a 20yr old Fiat car (sorry Fiat owners ). These are also being changed when parts arrive...
