Michelin Pilot 3's. No contest. Done 4000 miles so far including 5 relatively fast ( slow inters ) track days. Amazing wet grip and not squared off at all yet.

Dunlop Roadsmart 2 IMO
I've done almost 50,000 miles on the Roadsmart and the Roadsmart 2
If you are on a budget, they are still making the original Roadsmart.
The Roadsmart 2 is reckoned by them that knows as being marginally better than the Michelin and both are waaaay ahead of the Bridgestone offering for all weather use (the Bridgestone is supposed to be very good in the dry I understand)
For a 'budget' tyre the Roadsmart is very good - knee down on my GTR1400 and scrubbing the front to the very edge and lasting 8,000miles+ the pair.

4K miles in 6 days!?! Sounds miserable ... my ass hurts just thinking about it.

Michelin PilotRoad 2s or 3s. My mileage is going to be different than yours, or anyone else's - too many variables ... bike, how its loaded, road conditions, how the bike is ridden (smooth or ham-fisted rider), suspension setup, etc. For me, these tyres have been lasting more than the 4K you plan to roll, and these buns lend themselves well to sportouring, which many seem to confuse for touring.

Note that PilotRoad 2s or 3s are not super long-haul 8K+ mile touring tyres. PilotRoads are NOT just for going down the road for a gazillion miles; they are a waste of money if that's all you plan to do. There are less expensive options that will live longer for that. They are great for carving up twisty bits and long throws. There are novices I know who've been using them regularly at trackdays - then commute on them the rest of the time. That's how versatile and capable they are. I haven't tried them, but I imagine RoadSmart2s are similar in performance.

6000 out of the mich 3s. been looking at them on the e--- bay.nice tread pattern .

another option would be a set of pirelli scorpians , slight off road pattern , good for blasting sand and grit roads.
have used these before on the sm950 , however 2800 out of a rear did not float my boat much.
to do a trip on these think i would be on the canvas.
back to the dreaded e-bay to check out roadsmart 2 .
cheers for the replys r.

Fitted BT023 yesterday, felt odd to start with due to scrubbing in process but now feels great. Went for a hoon last night few roundabouts and hard lefts and stuck like glue. Day one good!
