Really fried the clutch on a trip to Wales last week - tons of filtering on the M25. Been busy lately and have not had time to ride bike for a whole week. Today I warmed her up only to find the clutch fluid reservoir empty. Tried refilling it but it's not happening. I don't mind admitting I am not techinical and would appreciate some advice to get me rolling again.

have you changed to the 16t sprocket? I remember people saying that it's easy to blow the clutch gasket near the counter sprocket when changeing it...

No, the sprockets are standard. I think it was just heavy use over a 5 or 6 hour period.

OK, just picked the bike up. All sorted under warranty. KTM will be incorporating the fix on my bike into future SDs, so the mechanic said.

Am so happy that I feel like buying an old rustbucket to do up in the garage.

HI

Hoping someone can help

My clucth stopped working this morning on way to work, came to a halt at traffic lights and with clutch in the bike still wated to go forwards. By the time I got too work it was stalling when stopping.

Noticed that the fluid had all gone.

Wnt to ktm dealer they said the slave cylinder but didnt have any in stock.

Seen that you can replace it with an oberon or something which is cheaper than standard, but is it better or as good? Are there any other options?

Why do they go, can the seal in the clutch slave cylinder be repaired?

Thanks
AL

Hi gents I've just joined the forum and this is my first post, I'm now the very proud owner of an 05 Superduke which is bog standard apart from the round twin Akrapovic with the odd bit carbon fitted here and there.
What a blast the bike really is but then you all already know that, only problem is and from reading through the forum I think I've found the answer, when I put her in first when she is still cold the gear almost grinds and then goes in with a clunk. It is almost impossible to get back into neutral if you stop at traffic lights and the best way is to gently tap down on the move and coast to a stop. Now I find the bike trying to pull away while in gear although the lever is pulled back against the bars. Is it as simple a fix as to bleed the slave and master cylinder on the clutch and problem solved. While I'm on it how much difference does an Oberon slave cylinder make? is it worth the money
And when replacing the fluid in the cylinders what fluid do I use?
Thanks in advance and really enjoying the reading and advice so far

Hi Ali,
Welcome aboard.
Up on the top menu bar is the Search button. If you search for "clutch" you'll find all the answers to everything
you want to know about the questions you've asked.

Thanks for the reply, as I said on my post I had read through the forum and as I'm no mechanic I really wanted a bit of reassurance that I had come to the right conclusion. I've re searched and am pretty sure if I bleed both the slave and master cylinder everything will be fine.
Thanks again Ali

Had a simular problem with mine, dont forget to clean out he oil jet behind the front sprocket, mine was blocked....gave it a clean , bleed the system and its like new

I'd be going with the master and slave before touching the oil jet. It's very easy to get shit in there. If the bleed gets you knowhere then look at the jet.
