Hello Guys from superduke.net!

I've an superduke r 08 with two broken valves. The intake valve was trying to get out trough the exhaust valve, but that didnt fit so it came trough the piston . Also the connecting rod is a little bent. Does anybody know if you need to split the engine to change the connecting rod? In the repair manual I can't find anything about changing it.

Thanks!
you need to split .the engine housing is vertically split so there are no oilpan to remove.
Guess this could be the start of a lot of posts for you and I - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=25100&hilit=Valve

How many miles has your SDR done? Circa 20k?

14k miles, not good - perhaps adds to my theory re bad batch of '08 SDR inlet valves......

Bottom end of LC8 strong, top end perhaps less so, but you really need to open up crankcases to look for colLateral damage, etc - have a look at my thread, I'll pm my telephone number to you and let's talk it through.
