I am just looking for something more comfortable. 10+ hours in the seat of an SD is pretty painful. Just got back from a 2,500 mile weekend in south-central Utah, and my arse certainly paid for it. It isn't as bad as the plank on some bikes, but I sure miss the Corbin on my last moto...

I've got a new seat on order from the dealer (£80) and I'll be taking it down to the local custom shop to get it re-upholstered.
Gel pads, memory foam and reshaped to look a bit like the Corbin/Bagster jobs.

Bit like this...

Quoted about £50-120 for the rejig.

Gonna get four of the spare Wire clip hoops (middle bottom) to attach a tail pack using the clips (second from right on the bottom).

Will bodge them on to my Oxford tail pack, should get rid of the problem of lifting the tailpack to undo the seat to unfasten the tailpack...

Should mean I can manage the ride to Austria next summer to go play in the Alps.

Hey Hey,

No she has not riden it yet..... she has riden my R1, and we just sold her own heavily modified M900 Ducati. Happy when she does she should love it.

The place in Sydney Aust who cut the foam down and retrimmed it was:

Great guys there.... used the original seat cover and added the black part after trimming down the foam like I marked for them. Came it at just under AU$200.00 and the quality of work and materials is excellent.

We definately recommend them.

I would remove the stupid passenger strap immediately. It's only there for legal because the SD has no grab rail for the passenger to hold on too. Have you ever seen somebody actually using this??...

The seat (and bike) looks much better without it.
