Damn! Oil in coolant!

Just brought the bike to the dealer for it's 7.5 K service, and they found that a significant amount of oil has been finding its way into the coolant, and upon replacng the water pump seal, replacing the fluids, and re-running it the engine- vice-versa. The bike is one week out of warranty. Anyone else encounter this, and if so what did you find out and how did you resolve it?

Bummed!
Are you saying it's still letting oil in the coolant after the water pump seal was replaced? Water pump seals going is not an unusual problem. Mine went at about 20k miles. Been fine since however.

the WP shaft may be grooved. it should be inspected with the seal off.

So this is endemic of this engine? Waterpump seal fails, scores the shaft, oil and coolant mix together, and nobody's had any further problems from contaminated oil?

Has this happened to anybody while your bike was still under warranty? If so, what was the outcome with KTM?

what did the shop charge you for the fix?

it take 30 mins to pull the seal and replace. R/R the shaft and bearings takes considerable more time.

I bet they tried to bent you over.
