Hi Guys,

I have a 2006 bike with 24,000 miles and have just done my first oil change Not the first one, it's just not gone to the dealers for the first time!! I was concerned about the amount of filings and stuff on the 2 plugs. Can you have a look at the phots and see what you think.

Bike runs sweet as a nut, probable better than when new. The engine is untouched, no power commander, just Akro slip ons and the ECU Akro map supplied by dealer. She''s done 7 trackdays early doors but nothing apart from B road blasts of late.

Bert just had another go Think my light came on Cheers
I know it looks grim but I used to get similar debris on my plugs. I wouldn't be overly concerned personally. Even at 45k miles I still get an occasional shard. KTM do not chamfer the gear teeth edges so you tend to get bits on the magnets.
As I understand it most of the debris is from the waterpump: it is a known issue.
Even after rebuilds mine still does this.
If you are still concerned take the cam cover off the front piston and check the cams for excessive wear. Chances are, if the cams are ok then so should the rest of the motor.
(Although this is not always the case: one time the metal was from my front piston breaking up!)
SELL IT

only joking , real question is what gloves are they ?, do you know ducati pete ?
Normal. Ride the piss out of it.
