After I posted on here last time it happened, the mention of the gas tank (petrol to us!) was made and I honestly thought that may be the problem because it felt like fuel starvation, unfortunately every time it did it last week that was the first thing I did, I even used the spare keys to open the tank while the engine was running (spluttering) but nothing happened.
Joe I actually think the only real solution is to swap out the ECU because as with most modern bikes, it seems to rely so much on ECU's and their settings to make the thing run right, so if they don't manage to replicate the problem soon I will ask them to replace it with another under warrenty.

I want my bike back !!!!

I repeat, have you checked your grounds? Some here have found that the contact points for the grounds are on partally painted metal. Once made clean the erratic behavior vanished. Check it before the ECU is replaced.

as the bike is in the dealers right now (70 miles away!) I will wait till I'm due to call him tomorrow and if he hasn't traced it yet I'llmake that suggestion about the grounds.....watch this space !

Poor battery terminals have caused this sort of thing before, problem is, it sounds so lame, nobody wants to even try it.

as much as I post, I am sure no one will miss it..... and you all may know I have a fruit cake for a brain so anything is possible,

or maybe nothing is impossible with a fruity brain....hehe

Russ, if I were you I'd get some legal advice - if you're in the AA/RAC try them, or your local citizen's advice. Your bike is nearly new and this shouldn't be happening - if you'd bought any car for the same price you'd get much better service. Tell your dealer that you are rejecting the bike because it is unfit for purpose, that might wake the dozy sods up a bit.
