Not quite as drastic as it sounds!!
One of my friends owns a 990 adventure and one of the common 'improvements' that owners carry out is to drill a 2mm hole on the underside of the box section of the swingarm just before the weld. This is to allow any water present in the swingarm to drain out. Apparently there have been issues with the chain adjusters seizing due to the presence of water in the swingarm. The 2mm hole allows water to drain out and also means you can get the WD40 straw in to give a good blast.
Anyone done this or hear of it?
