My US Spec 08SD came with 208RRs and I was impressed with the grip, fairly quick warm-up and steering. The rear was shagged however at 2900 miles although wear was fairly even with very little "squaring".

I replaced both tyres with Pirelli Diablo Corsa III's becase you can't get 208RRs here. I've put 3200 miles on the Corsas on similar roads but a bit more freeway riding. The rear Corsa III still has a 100 miles or so of tread left, but is quite square now and feels unstable as I turn into a corner.

I've had several sets of Corsa III's on two other bikes for road and track days and always liked them. They are lasting longer on my SD than they did on my 07GSXR or Fazer1000, but to tell the truth, I don't think they match the SD as well. I liked the feel of the 208RRs better and will try something else the next time I change tyres.

On the SD I tend to brake further into a corner, turn very late and very hard. On the GSXR I think I carried more corner speed, but the turn-in was more gradual and gave the tyres an easier time.

I have used Dunlop Qualifiers for about 600 miles of trackdays on a Kawasaki ZX-6R. They look quite similar to 208RRs but ride differently and in my opinion don't have as much grip.

Bodge, very good the Diablo you know, I like that
Allan P thanks for the feed back, looks like I'll stick another 208RR on for the trip down South (it should lastthe distance but may be shagged by the time I get back ) & when I get back I'll change both for either Diablo's or M3's as Joe suggested.
Once again thanks for the input guys, most helpful as always

what are you feelings on Avon Distanzias? i run them on my 525 and love um. i was thinking they would work good on the SD also, as i hit a lot of gravel and dirt roads.

monumaker Welcome to the forum, never have tried the avons, let me say the diablo corsa III have put me on my ass in cool wet conditions.

joe is not only a fair weather rider, I want a tyre that sticks to the road no matter which conditions i am in, if it costs more $$, I do not care,

I want to stay up on 2 wheels in all weather, I ride through wet clay on the roads surface at times,

not the place you want to find out the traction was not what you thought it was, I want the best traction in in all conditions.(a tall order).

the problem that i had seen with the 208 RR's, they were slick when wet. but i wore the rear out in 2000 miles. great warm dry weather tyre.
