I've got an 08 SD with Akro's which was transformed at first service last week; the techie guy wasn't specific but seemed to suggest it was more than a new map (maybe ecu firmware or something !?)

Either way its much better to ride but I have lost all the popping, banging and flames. I could do it on demand before but can't get anything out of it now !?
I think the SAS has been disconnected in software.

I know your running SDR but it maybe worth speaking to your dealer again or try Premier Bikes - Didcot - who are excellent and sorted my bike.

The other thing I was going to try was synching the throttle bodies, but didn't need to after service. I'll try this if surging returns. Have you had this done ?

In August's fast bikes mag they have a naked test, 08SDR, Tuono, Moto Morini, Ducati S4RS Tricolore, Triumph Speed Triple, The SDR wins the test which is V good news, but this comment (second opinion as they call it really sums the bike up)

''This bike handled fantastically well on test, it's like a rapier, sything through turns. However the seat may as well be made of plastic, and the whole bike is bloody hard. The real bugbear this time was the sick throttle, with some of the worst low speed jerk i've ever experienced. Describing it as 'horrific' is being kind.................''

The worst low speed jerk i've ever experienced. Describing it as 'horrific' is being kind, does sum it up perfectly, there is clearly an issue on the 2008 SDR , maybe the fueling maps have not kept pace with the mods done over the 2007 bike, but clearly KTM have to address this,
