Exhaust change ? Fit an SAS kit.

After fitting Akra slip on's I had been suffering with a really snatchey throttle response which was starting to get on my nerves to be honest. But after speaking about the problem to my friendly local dealer I was told to fit an SAS kit. Turns out it was the best £35 I have spent on the bike. It now pulls really cleanly from a closed throttle and is much better in heavy traffic. Only downside is there's no more popping and banging on the over run. Still I can live with that I guess. Its a bit of a mare to fit though. Should really get the kit included with the pipes says I.

very interesting. eventhough I admit to enjoy the poping on overrun, a smooth throttle response is better yet. Do you mean to say that the very light throttle response is no longer jerking you around while on very low setting on a bumpy road? I am keen to hear your response.

this will probably sound much better if explained by anyone with better technical knowledge than myself, but here goes anyway

the sas is a contraption of intertwined hoses & bits attached to the exhaust manifolds on the cylinder heads that enrichen the exhaust fumes with clean air ... if you're running akra silencers it helps the throttle response when you remove them (plus you get rid of all the banging when decelerating - not exactly a good thing if you ask me, i miss the effect of little birds falling of tree limbs back when i still had the sas in place )

i miss my snap crackle & pop ... but the bike does idle better and is less twitchy in city speeds
