Exhaust wrap?

Has anyone wrapped their exhaust pipes with that heat-proof tape? If so how'd it work out? The tape is designed to insulated hot pipes from the shock and also improve flow. Looks like it'd be a good move on the SD...mine's always running hot and you can even see the headers glow red at nite...

I think Joe did it but did not like the result. He may have gone to ceramic coating? I'm sure he'll update us.
