Same thing happened to me yesterday....Didnt have a real charger, only a trickle charger. Had the pigtails connected to the terminals before, but took em off because batt. wasnt charging (later found out the fuse was blown on the pigtails). So.....20 min of screwing around getting to the batt. and another 3 hrs on the trickle charger....the bitch finally started. Worst location for a batt. EVER!!! . Needless to say, the pigtails are going back on.
that the batt is low for weight, they could have thought out access alittle better though

Yes, it registered 50% on my charger meaning around 12.2v - rather like my old Ducati, you can forget about starting it if its been standing a while and its cold - I like the idea of the pigtails - always accessible for trickle charging - I presume these are just a couple of handy short pieces of cable that avoid crawling around tring to get at the battery?
